Tetra Cardinal (Paracheirodon axelrodi) Tetra Cardinal (Paracheirodon axelrodi)
Tetra Cardinal (Paracheirodon axelrodi) $6.99
The cardinal tetra (Paracheirodon axelrodi) is a freshwater fish of the family Characidae of order Characiformes. It is native to the upper Orinoco and Negro Rivers in South America. Growing to about 3 cm (1.2 in) total length, the cardinal tetra has the striking iridescent blue line characteristic of the genus Paracheirodon laterally bisecting the fish, with the body below this line being vivid red in colour, hence the name "cardinal tetra". The cardinal tetra's appearance is similar to that of the closely related neon tetra, with which it is often confused; the neon's red coloration extends only about halfway to the nose, and the neon's blue stripe is a less vibrant blue. Guppy Assorted Male
Guppy Assorted Male $7.99
The Assorted Male Guppy can be any variety of Poecilia reticulata depending on availability and supplier. Regardless of variety, male guppies are known for their vibrant coloration which makes them admired and sought after by any guppy enthusiast or freshwater aquarium hobbyist interested in colourful live-bearing fish. The Assorted Male Guppy does best in an established aquarium of at least 10 gallons. Though tolerant of small changes, care should be taken to maintain stable water parameters. Hardy plant varieties such as Java Fern and Java Moss are excellent choices for creating a lush, planted aquarium housing the Assorted Male Guppy. Though best displayed in a biotope or colony aquarium, the Assorted Male Guppy is a very peaceful fish that does well in freshwater community aquariums housing tankmates of similar temperament. The Assorted Male Guppy is an omnivore and requires both algae-based foods as well as meaty foods. An algae-based flake food, along with freeze-dried bloodworms, tubifex, and brine shrimp will provide guppies with the proper nutrition. Guppies are relatively easy to breed even for the beginning aquarists. If you are interested in breeding guppies, the ideal aquarium should have a covering of floating plants and a breeding box to protect the fry. Adults may eat the fry if left to fend for themselves without the breeding box. The fry should be fed brine shrimp, micro food and pulverized flakes.

Minnow White Cloud (Tanichthys albonubes)
Minnow White Cloud (Tanichthys... $3.99
When kept in the right temperature range, this species of fish is very hardy and well suited for beginner hobbyists. Although undemanding when it comes to water quality, this minnow does not deal with heat well. There is evidence that keeping white cloud mountain minnows in water that is constantly above 72F (22C) will shorten their lifespan. Substrate for the white cloud mountain minnow tank should be fine and darker in colour, with plenty of vegetation as well as some rocks and driftwood. Leave an open area for swimming and offer subdued lighting to bring out the colours of this fish. Water hardness and pH are not critical, but it is wise to avoid extremes. Avoid the use of all medications containing copper, as white cloud mountain minnows are very sensitive to copper. White cloud mountain minnows are sometimes kept as pond fish to help control the breeding of mosquitoes. Keep in mind that they cannot be kept with large pond fish, as they will be eaten. They do, however, make good companions for frogs. Livestock inventory might be off when numbers are low. Cryptocoryne lucens - Potted Cryptocoryne lucens - Potted
Cryptocoryne lucens - Potted $14.99
Crypt lucens is a less common type of crypt that can serve as an ideal foreground or midground plant.  The slender leaves are bright green with brown stems and when grown in large groups can resemble tall reeds of thick grass.  Like other crypts, this plant is recommended for beginners due to its ease in keeping and low care requirements.  If grown in good aquarium substrate such as Controsoil, the plant can feed through the roots and grow quickly without the need for high light, CO2 or fertilizer dosing. Crypts can be grown emersed or submerged.  Propagate by splitting the rhizome or cutting off new growth and replanting. Livestock inventory might be off when numbers are low. The Nassarius Snail is a small scavenger with an oval, spiral shell that resembles an olive pit. The Nassarius Snail likes to burrow in the sand, usually with its long, tube-like siphon protruding from the substrate. As it searches for food, the Nassarius Snail helps prevent compaction and aerates aquarium substrate. The Nassarius Snail prefers an established aquarium with live rock and a deep sand bed. It is sensitive to high nitrate levels and copper-based medications. The Nassarius Snail is extremely difficult to breed in captivity.
