Aquatic Plants Anubias barteri var. barteri (Terracotta Pot)
Anubias barteri var. barteri from West Africa is an undemanding plant. It grows somewhat larger than Anubias barteri var. nana but is grown in the same conditions. From 25-45 cm tall and the creeping rhizome from 10-15 cm or more. Anubias barteri varies considerably in terms of size and leaf shape. Like other Anubias-species, it is best planted in a shady spot to minimize algae growth on the leaves. If planted on the bottom, the rhizome must not be covered because it tends to rot. It is also suitable for terrariums and paludariums. Herbivorous fish do not eat the very tough and robust leaves.

Aquatic Plants Microsorum pteropus (Plant)
This plant is very hardy and grows well in a wide range of water parameters. Fish tend not to nibble at these as not only are the leaves very tough but apparently they taste disgusting. This is one reason why they are a popular plant in aquariums that contain herbivorous fish.

Aquatic Plants Tissue Culture Lilaeopsis brasiliensis
Lilaeopsis brasiliensis from South America can grow very compact, but a "lawn effect'' (4-7 cm tall) is only achieved at high light intensity. When planting in the aquarium small clumps (approx. 1/8 pot) should be placed a few centimetres apart to help the plants grow together more quickly. Place in an open position without shading from other plants to ensure good light. Lilaeopsis brasiliensis can be used in garden ponds, and also tolerates low salt concentrations in brackish aquariums. Livestock inventory might be off when numbers are low. If you place an online order and we are out of stock, you will automatically receive a refund for out of stock items!

Aquatic Plants Sunset Hygro (Hygrophila polysperma) 'Rosanervis'
This is a very adaptable plant, with medium lighting the growth rate is still fast, use bright lighting and the leaves will turn pink and add colour to your tank. It is an excellent plant for beginners; its growth rate can be so fast that it has been classed as an invasive plant in some countries.
