Plant Taxiphyllum Alternans 'Taiwan Moss' - Tissue Culture
Plant Taxiphyllum Alternans 'Taiwan... $14.49
Taxiphyllum Alternans is a species of moss that grows in a creeping fashion. This means that the plant grows horizontally rather than vertically. Usually known by the name of Taiwan moss, this bryophyte is the perfect carpeting moss for aquascaping. Banana Plant (Nymphoides aquatica) Banana Plant (Nymphoides aquatica)
Banana Plant (Nymphoides aquatica) $11.99
An Aquarium Banana Plant can make a visually interesting foreground plant due to its thick green tubers that give it its “banana-like” look. As the plant grows, it may produce a long leaf stem that will shoot toward the surface of the tank. Also, the plant may even grow small white flowers just above the surface of the water.
Cryptocoryne lucens - Potted Cryptocoryne lucens - Potted
Cryptocoryne lucens - Potted $14.99
Crypt lucens is a less common type of crypt that can serve as an ideal foreground or midground plant.  The slender leaves are bright green with brown stems and when grown in large groups can resemble tall reeds of thick grass.  Like other crypts, this plant is recommended for beginners due to its ease in keeping and low care requirements.  If grown in good aquarium substrate such as Controsoil, the plant can feed through the roots and grow quickly without the need for high light, CO2 or fertilizer dosing. Crypts can be grown emersed or submerged.  Propagate by splitting the rhizome or cutting off new growth and replanting. Livestock inventory might be off when numbers are low. Sword Amazon (Echinodorus bleheri) Sword Amazon (Echinodorus bleheri)
Sword Amazon (Echinodorus bleheri) $8.99
This is another popular plant that appears in aquariums mainly due to its ease of care making this ideal for beginners. The rosette normally consists of approximately 30 leaves and they will vary in their depth of greenness. Any sign of the leaves turning yellow is an indication that the plant is lacking in iron so a supplement should be added to the tank. It is a beautiful addition to any aquarium but will need pruning to prevent it from blocking light to other plants. The roots are the main feeding source so plenty of supplements should be on hand in the substrate to keep this plant looking its best, having said that it is very easy to care for compared to more delicate species of plants and ideal for beginners. Another great reason for adding this plant to the aquarium is their ability to release oxygen into the water column, at times the oxygen bubbles can even be seen with the naked eyes floating up from the plant. Rattlebox (Staurogyne repens) Rattlebox (Staurogyne repens)
Rattlebox (Staurogyne repens) $12.99
This plant is found on the banks of rivers or lakes and can also be found in marshy areas. It can spread quite quickly if given the right conditions but will normally grow at a steady pace in the aquarium. It floats due to the roots being air-filled and if required the plants can be anchored down to be grown totally submerged. Under intense lighting, the leaves will take on a reddish colouration but if the leaves start to turn yellow this is a sure sign of nutrient deficiency. Hornwort (Ceratophyllum demersum) - Ring Bunch
Hornwort (Ceratophyllum demersum) -... $7.99
Ceratophyllum demersum is known by many common names, such as rigid hornwort, hornwart (a frequent misspelling), and coontail. It grows very tall in the wild and will easily reach all the way to the top of your aquarium or pond. Normally hornwort is found floating at the water surface, but when planted in the substrate, it looks like a fluffy underwater bush with many long branches or side stems. The bright green leaves are thin and rigid, similar to pine needles. Much like water sprite and java moss, hornwort has dense foliage that provides excellent protection for baby fish and shrimp. Helanthium 'Quadricostatus' - Tissue Culture
Helanthium 'Quadricostatus' - Tissue... $13.99
Echinodorus ‘Quadricostatus’ from South America has characteristic light-green leaves 10-15 cm long which form a good contrast to the darker aquarium plants. It is most beautiful when planted in groups, each roset becoming 15-20 cm wide. In good conditions it produces runners which spread over the bottom. Very light leaves are a sign of a shortage of micro-nutrients. There is some confusion about the name of this plant, and it has been sold as Echinodorus bolivianus var. magdalenensis.  Livestock inventory might be off when numbers are low. Eleocharis acicularis 'Mini' - Tissue Culture
Eleocharis acicularis 'Mini' -... $14.49
Known also as ‘Dwarf Needle Grass’ and ‘Japanese Dwarf Hair Grass’, Eleocharis acicularis ‘mini’ is a reliable, low-growing grass plant. It is especially well-suited to nano aquariums as its short height allows for a greater range in aquascape scale and design. When planted in small, regularly spaced tufts, Eleocharis ‘mini’ will carpet the substrate in a dense lawn. Although Eleocharis ‘mini’ may be a little fussier than its relative, E. parvula, it does not need frequent trimmings and so may be easier to maintain once established. Thanks to its many runners, this species will spread quickly when healthy. To keep plants thriving, provide moderate to intense lighting. CO2 supplementation is recommended if not required for lush, carpet-like growth. Livestock inventory might be off when numbers are low. Dwarf Sagittaria (Sagittaria subulata) - Ring Bunch
Dwarf Sagittaria (Sagittaria subulata)... $7.99
Sagittaria subulata from South America is an ideal, undemanding foreground plant whose short runners form a compact group. Place individual plants 2-4 cm apart. This plant may cause problems because in certain conditions it suddenly grows to a height of 50 cm when it grows older. But if it is then moved into the background it may become low again. In the aquarium, it sometimes sends a long flower stem to the surface, and small white flowers unfold just above the water surface. Livestock inventory might be off when numbers are low.
